About MSP
Dr. Missy Satterberg
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (OR & CA) - Board Certified Art Therapist
Hello and welcome! I am Missy (she/her) of MSP and am happy you found your way to my site. Take a look around and let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you.
I bring the identities of a white, cisgender, queer, able-bodied woman into the therapy space. I recognize the influence my identity has on the therapeutic relationship, and I commit to addressing it with humility and self-awareness. Your experience remains the priority, and I encourage open discussion about how our dynamic is impacting you.
As a therapist, I am committed in my own antiracist journey, which includes participating in continuing education courses and educational experiences, exploring clinical topics in regular consultation with therapists, utilizing personal therapy and my own art making process.
In addition to traditional talk therapy, I may also invite you to use art as a tool for self-understanding. Creative methods can be incredibly helpful for accessing and processing emotions, offering an alternative pathway to insight and healing that complements our verbal work.
I have provided mental health services since 2004 working with communities in various settings including hospitals, residential facilities, elementary and middle schools, foster care and adoption services, community mental health, and private practice settings. I have worked with individuals of all ages including children, teenagers, adults and seniors providing individual, group, couples and families. ____________________________________________________________________________
